Description
A vibrant round fruit with small spikes. Within this fruit will be many seeds arranged in sections which are covered in a deep blood red flesh which is the edible portion. The taste isn't very strong and is somewhat mild. Texture wise the flesh is very creamy and pulp like. This is commonly cooked with other foods and is a popular delicacy in Asia where it is cooked with different types of rice although it can be enjoyed fresh too.
Provides a good source of Vitamin E, Polyunsaturates / Omega 3, B-Vitamins.
